DRESENAE SANDRIANA

DRESENAE SANDRIANA is a very popular plant due to the ease of its cultivation and the remarkable ornamentation of its leaves. Two-stemmed plant. With white leaves and green interior.

Dresenae Sandriana plant has green leaves with creamy white edges. White Sanderiana leaves are thick and durable looking. The plant is stalk-like and loosely resembles a corn stalk. The leaves wrap around the base of the stem with new growth occurring from the center of the plant. The leaves closer to the center are newest, and the leaves on the outside of the plant are oldest. White Sanderiana also has roots growing from the base of its stem. Under the correct conditions, it can be a very attractive and long-lived plant.

This plant requires high levels of oxygen and aeration to survive, which means you’ll need a bubbler or air stones and moderate water movement.

For this plant to root well and establish a sturdy root system, it will need a quality, nutrient-rich plant substrate. It will also need to be planted relatively deep, at least 7.5 centimeters.

For partially submerged plants, lower oxygen and CO2 levels are acceptable.  It can still be grown in the substrate or another place, such as the filter (one of the latest aquarium trends). Low to moderate lighting for 10 – 12 hours is still required.

Do not attempt to grow in salt water or brackish water!

High levels of ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates will eventually cause the plant to suffer and die. Though it will avidly absorb nitrates, it can only handle so much of it.

Weekly water changes of at least 25% are recommended as a baseline change. It could be tweaked depending on the size of your aquarium and bioload.
