Cryptocoryne becketii Tissue Culture is also known as Beckett’s water trumpet.
This freshwater plant does best in slow moving water and can be grown submerged or emergent. It does best with a rich substrate.
Although this plant is easy to grow, do not attempt to move it once it has rooted itself into the substrate because that will cause it to ‘melt’ (lose it’s leaves). If your plant melts during transit, give it a few weeks to see if it regrows. Once your Cryptocoryne has adapted to it’s new environment, many baby plants can grow from their roots after melting.
Appearance:
Cryptocoryne becketii Tissue Culture has basal leaves with elongate, sheathing petioles up to 15 cm long. The blades are glabrous, ovate to narrowly ovate, 3 to 9 cm long and 1 to 3.5 cm wide. The blade’s upper surface is green to dark green or brown and marbled to red-brown, and the lower surface is generally red-tinged, to more or less brownish or green. Submerged plants usually have larger, thinner leaves.
