Pygmy chain sword (Echinodorus tenellus ) Tissue Culture –  Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro from a state of the art laboratory specialized in propagating aquatic plants.  They provide the best option for those who want to ensure that absolutely zero unwanted pests are introduced into the aquarium.

Remove tissue culture gel before planting. Simply remove the tissue and wash the gel (if present) away or soak the plant in water and squeeze the gel off with your fingers.

The smallest of all Echinodorus species. Forms a beautiful carpet where the older leaves turn red in colour. Prefers a nutrient rich soil with good fertilization.  Most Echinodorus require nutrient-dense soil to thrive as they are heavy root feeders.  This plant grows by sending out lateral runners just like hair grass and other swords and when grown under proper conditions can spread to cover the foreground of your aquarium.  CO2 injection and quality aquarium soil will yield better growth.

It’s an easy and quite undemanding foreground plant.  They do not like to be placed underneath taller plants as this can restrict their growth.
